Are you searching for addresses or something like fuel or food? There are no POI's on the offline version.

I know for a fact when you make a map it only pulls map info. Doesnt matter if using yahoo maps or google maps or any other to make your map. If you are getting searchable info then you are using data. You do not have your phone set correctly to use mgmaps completely offline. In your settings go to storred maps. Make sure stored maps and offline mode are both selected.

I went into setting, selected map browsing and in that following are selected: Remember Pos. Enhanced panning Stored Maps Offline mode
Then below the path for the stored maps and the memory cache: 384.

If you go to AT&T online account info, does it show that you don't have any network charges? I'd hate for you to think it's all safe only to get hammered with a fat data charge on your next bill.

I have to agree. POI's are pulled from the internet and not the map itself.
Can you make a dummy network profile on your phone? Go to your network profiles and create a new one. Dont fill anything in just save it right away. Then point mgmaps at it to use it. Now tell me if you can search?

can anyone post some screen shots or something to show how it works on the mythic? and just to be clear the new google maps navigation feature doesn't work on this yet, right?
sorry if i just missed this info somewhere...apologizes in advance.

Google maps works very much, possibly exactly like it does on a PC. On a PC, go to Google maps and enter an address or a place, and it will either go to that address or to a series of links that may be your place or one named similarly. You click the link to your desired point and it throws up a map that can even be a satellite image. Tell it to give you directions and it will do just that, but not orally. It will work just like on a PC and give you written turn by turn directions with distances and such. You can save addresses as favorites, such as your home or work. Then later select them from a menu to get directions to/from other places you enter or search. It's good and such but probably not what you'd want to replace a dedicated GPS unit. But if you need to find a place and have no clue, it will do the job.

I believe I have installed the google jar and jad on mythic through tkfe. But how do i get it to work now? I did follow the directions for administration also. There is no app on my phone named google maps. So I am not sure how to see the google maps app.

:'(I downloaded the jar and jad for googlemaps from this forum and installed with TKFE. Then used administration method so my phone would see it. Placed googlemaps in the apps folder. When I try to run the app I get a "java error, invalid format" message and the app closes. I have only recently bought this phone and have already installed opera mini, google, solve mymath scientific calculator, and several games to work on this phone.

Since you've installed other apps successfully, try deleting from phone and installing again. Should install just like other apps with TKFE.
You might want to try google maps from my fullscreen apps post, I know it works. You will need to create a jad.

Ok, I maybe completely overlooking something...but I can't figure out how to get the gps to connect. I installed using TKFE and it's all working fine, it finds my closest cell tower and says waiting for gps but never connects. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Tried deleting from my phone and reinstalling ,but it still shows incompatible java format. Also tried yours but when I drag it to JADgen I get this error "Error extracting manifest from JAR-file".

warriordb1 - google maps works from my post, try using jadmaker to make jad. You will find it here http://www.samsung-mythic.com/how-to/converting-jar-to-jad/
