Sorry, I'm new to the forum. I was wondering about the Amaze GPS. I know that the 5.0 version needs to be paid for, but I think I remember Agoattamer mentioning that the 4.5 version was still working(?). Is it possible for anyone to upload the .jar and .jad files for 4.5? I'd really appreciate it, thanks a lot.

It seems that Amaze has given notice that version 4.5 will not be working after January 1st. So there will not be a free version anymore. Sorry for the bad news.

Haha, that's all right. The Googlemaps works fine, it's just that it would be more convenient to have a program with turn-by-turn directions instead of having to follow a blue dot on the screen. If anything out there works as a garmin/tomtom-like gps be sure to let your admirers know!

I'm still using 4.5 on mine. I got the notice on Jan1 that it would quit working and when I first start the app it tries to tell me to upgrade to 5.0. I just tell it I will later and it continues to work...so far.

Yes amaze 4.5 is still working. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Maybe it was more of a scare tactic to upgrade. Just use it while you can.

I just installed Google Maps version 2. What a disappointment! It doesn't show my GPS position but instead it shows the location of the Cell Tower as my current location. When I'm driving down the road, It will show my new location as the next Cell Tower. I test drove Amaze and was not impressed. I'm glad I can delete unwanted programs. Are there any other free GPS programs that really use the GPS functionality of the Mythic? Thanks

Loaded it up last night and tested it on the drive to work. Graphics are cool and accurate. Have to really read next turn at top of screen. Small hard to hit options need stylus for most options. Very happy with it makes my phone that much cooler.

You should get a stylus . It will definitely come in handy for some apps and games. A lot of phones with higher res come w/ stylus already. Got a 3 pack from gamestop for nintendo ds -7.99 You can also find them online cheaper if you want , ds ones are just sturdy.

i used the amaze full version this weekend and it worked well. the only problems i had were when we were in the city walking and by buildings the gps would loose connection and not reconnect. also on the way home on a 5 hour drive i had to restart the app to get the connection back. wasn't a huge ordeal. i also had google maps as a backup i just like the look of amaze. looks like the ordinary gps devices i have used in the past. turn by turn and talks to you. i felt it was worth the $33 i spent. couldn't get it to work with the bluetooth gps. it may not be able to use the bluetooth gps though. just thought i would leave my little review about this.

Amaze makes separate versions for internal and bluetooth gps. You would have to install a version for a phone without internal gps.
