So today all of a sudden my phone started to display the mobile TV icon up in the status bar on the top of the phone.  Now I read that it is up there to show that you are in an area that offers the TV option well my wife has the same phone and its in the same areas in the house as mine and hers does not display this icon?  How do I get rid of this, I don't want to find out the hard way that I am getting charged for something that I didn't want.  Why would mine show it but not hers if it is just telling me that that service is available.

The reason you have this icon and your wife does not is because you have clicked MobileTV and it has set it up on your phone and she has not. As long as you did not subscribe to TV when you were being set up, you will not be charged. As long as your wife does not click MobileTV, she will not be set up and won't have to worry about the icon. But since you've set it up, you're going to have that icon.

As far as I know, there is no way to get rid of that icon. You will just have to deal with it, unfortunately.

Well that sucks.  Thanks for the info and hopefully someone will find a way to get rid of that pesky little bugger.

Has anyone figured out how to remove the TV icon? I also made the mistake of touching the Windows Live menu button and starting that function then deciding I didn't need it. Now both the TV and Windows Live icons are constantly on top in the status bar.

Please help!!!

I am also facing the same problem... can anyone find to get rid of those icons from the bar...

Mine ended up disappearing after not using the TV program after a while. I also removed the TV shortcut from my menu and widget bar. Not sure what else I did.
