That is a very good question. It only requires like a line of code added to the page where the widgets are stored. I am not sure myself. Also with a line of code you can actually install the jars and jads from your site too. The man to ask is Bantam Bytes. http://www.samsung-mythic.com/profile/?u=557  Shoot him an email and he will get back with you eventually.

I cant figure out how to make a Slickdeals.net widget.  I am trying to use the ESPN template but cant figure out how to get the RSS feeds to work.  I am trying to get the RSS feeds on the front page to show on the widget.  Can anyone help or make one for me?

Working on making a fox news widget off the msnbc widget,
got it half working. Going to revisit that project sometime soon.

How did you get the MSNBC widget?  From the internals or online?  I will try to use that as my template maybe it will work.

Hi all,
Great work from all here. Question I used search, but I'm stuck. I uploaded accuweather and downloaded it to a folder on my phone from the pin site successfully, but I've read and read and can't figure out how to install it.

I found the file on the phone where I put it, but when I click the .wgt file, I just get "Unsupported File type"

Any pointers?

Thanks!

Please read first post again. You are missing the biggest step where you upload it to samsung innovator and then doenload to phone with pin widget web page.

I did that...Unless I missed something else. This is what I did:

Registered on the Samsung site
saved the accuweather .wgt file to my computer and uploaded it to the samsung site
got a pin number on the samsung site
Went to the pin widget page on my phone, entered pin, and downloaded the wgt file to my phone which worked fine as far as I can tell. Even saw the accuweather icon on the samsung site.
Download completed
I didn't know where to put it, so I downloaded it to my stuff/other files
navigated to the downloaded file on my phone and tried to open it and just got the message - Unsupported file type.

was there a step I'm missing somewhere?

Thanks again!

Unless the mythic is totally different than the other phones when you enter the pin number it should just download and install. It should not ask you where to even save it. After downloading it shows widget activated.

Thank you. I'll give it another try. IIRC, when I entered the pin on the phone, it asked me to open or save.

Confirming-
Mythic works the same, just enter pin and widget automatically installs. There is no asking where to install.

If it did then select the other response and see what happens. Goodluck

Well, worked that time!

Not sure how or why, but it worked. After entering the pin, this time I selected open instead of save. My browser switched all by itself from the opera one I usually use on the widget bar to the other At&T one and started  downloading/opening.

I wasn't sure if it worked since I never got any notification of installation, just a download complete in the browser.

When I closed the browser, I scrolled through the widget bar and it was there. I suppose my software might be slightly different then other Mythics since i just got it on Tuesday from Amazon.

Oh well. Thanks for the help!

Your software would be the same. Have you tried to use the accuweather widget yet?

Yup, works great and I like it enough that I'm leaving it open on my home screen. Thanks for the help!
