There is 1 thing that definitely sticks out for me. STV just gave you the jar and it seems you made a jad using jadgen. This will not work. You need the original jad for thisapplication. Notice yours is around 500b while STV's is 3kb.

Without uninstalling copy the original jad over top of the generic jad and delete the appdb folder. You will then be quite pleased.

I included the jad and the jar down below. Just to make sure they are matched.

If the jars are the same STV will you please go back to where you uploaded the jar and add the jad with it. They need to be installed together.

Please let us know your results.

Mr. Agoattamer.. you are a genius..
it worked like a charm...
This is really a treat getting this phone to function like a smart phone without the monthly fees....not to mention that its quite entertaining to add enhancements each day..
really appreciate you and STV taking time out to walk me through these modifications..
hope I can return the favor one of these days..

I got my mythic last night and downgraded to mobile email 2.0.  Everything seems to work just fine.  I get a silent notiffication (which I am ok with) when I send an email to my yahoo account.  The problem is when I click on the "READ" button nothing happens.  I tried multiple times and no go.  Any ideas from anyone?

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem - at least I was when I was getting notifications...

When I first installed 2.0 I was getting notifications almost instantly (within 60 seconds) and it was like this for about the first 24 hours. Now I haven't received a single one in the last 24+ hours, with multiple emails coming in. I'm still able to get on to mobile email and use the program, I've just stopped receiving notifications.

Turn off notifications and turn it back on. If that doesnt work then delete the account on the phone and re add it.

Even on my impression it was the same way. I think ATT is doing it. They give you alerts then string you along and then slowly they stop coming in. Then 2 weeks later you get an email saying they turned them off. I really dont think ATT likes the free email notifications and are trying to do away with them.

More bandwith for iphones if you know what I mean.

What seems to be happening for me is that I get notifications every couple hours.

I don't get notifications right after an email is delivered.  It's almost as if they batch up the notifications and only send them out every couple of hours.

For example, today I got a notification once this morning even though I have multiple emails coming in.

I definitely agree Agoat . Att must have something to do with this, happens to me also.
I wonder how other brands of phones from ATT  deal with email notifications and how well they work. I just check my email now and keep browser suspended (with minimize setting) and don't worry about it. I've uninstalled/installed multiple times w/ same result,
works then doesn't, might get an alert might not. Also turned alerts on/off back and forth, rebooted phone all with same result alerts then doesn't.

Well it doesnt change anything on our phone. And the alerts come from ATT so.......it must be them halting our alerts. I really do believ at first they give them to you right away. After about a week they come in groups and not right away. Then they seem to stop coming. Then you get an alert that says they are turning off your email alerts. LOL. Been happening this way for a year and a half. Now they dont support 2.0 and changed to the paid 3.0. Sounds fishy to me.

I have the same issue with the alerts but i'm fine with minimizing the apps to check email manually for now.  I now have a problem with the mobile mail closing out instead of staying suspended/minimized.

I've already modified the phone settings to hide only so I can access my apps much faster but the mobile mail seems to stay minimized for maximum of 5 minutes.  If I check after that, the app is closed and Im having to reload the application
Anyone else having this problem or have any idea how to keep this app minimized for extended periods of time.  (I'm thinking maybe its the Yahoo email account that its interfaced with that keep logging out after no activity...  hmm)

I had and have the same exact problems. I gave up on alerts ,don't use mobile email 2.0 anymore because It was too frustrating.

My solution - I use opera 5 beta 2 (be sure to get full screen and use TKFE) and open email through it. Opera has multiple tabs option so you can always leave email open while you surf, just hit refresh and there you go. I've minimized opera for days and left it going w/ no problems.
Very rarely and mostly when I've got several things open a minimized app might close.

Was messing with mobile email 2.0 just to torture myself signed out and got an email alert (no audio) through phone widget Huh had to sign in to read it  Roll Eyes

Hope this option of using opera will help you  Grin

Where can I find the instructions for downgrading to 2.0? I read in this thread about updating the java db and using a master key. I just need a few more specifics on doing this. I'm not paying 5 bucks a month just for email. I've already got tkfe and d/l the jad jar files. Just wanna make sure what to do with them. Wink

Thanks,
Steve

You need to uninstall 3.0 using TKFE then update the database then install 2.0 using TKFE and update the database.

How do you uninstall 3.0. I opened it up and started to just delete the 3.0 jar and jad files but then I thought to myself "You better know what you're doing first". I wasn't sure what to do so I didn't do anything. Is there a thread already with specific instructions on how to do this?

It is the exact opposite of installing with TKFE.
