Is there anyway to change the low battery notification from buzzing/beeping at you every 5 minutes (I'm not exaggerating)? The phone turns on very easily while in my backpack at school, and I don't want to get in trouble if it's on low battery, starts up and starts beeping at me!

Try going to  menu / settings / sound profile / normal      in the top right drop down box select phone and turn phone volume all the way down. You will probably also want to turn keypad tone on mute and power on and off on mute.  Not sure if this will silence the battery alert, but it silences most all other sounds.

You can also try silent under sound profile. Haven't checked it out, but it might silence the battery alert.
Wife uses this profile in meetings, but hasn't ever had the battery run low. I would hope samsung would
have thought of this and make the battery alert silent under this profile.

I've tried the silent mode and all that did was buzz, which is a bit better than the beeping. But I'll try the other way too. Unfortunatly, I'm not holding out much hope, since my friend with an Impression doesn't have a way to silence it  Undecided
Thanks!

If your phone is that low that it beeps then you might as well turn it off. If it turns on in your backpack then put it in a case. This will protect your phone. If you are putting your phone through this much abuse then it will not last long. Also it won't beep if you keep it charged.

Yeah, I'm waiting for my case to come in. Should be here soon! Although for the time being, if I put it in buttons up, it won't turn on, so it's a good temporary solution.
