I dont seem to have a problem with battery life. I leave my phone without charging for days at a time. Then again, I dont have a data plan and no one wants to call me  Cry

What about 3g and it's affect on battery?

I have had my mythic for almost two weeks now, and I noticed twice when I left it on all night on my kitchen counter with a full or mostly full battery, that the battery was almost dead in the morning.

I have a pretty crappy 3g signal in my house and I wonder if it is constantly searching for 3g and casuing the battery to die.

When I am out all day in areas with good coverage the battery seems to hold fine. The other day I accessed the Internals Menu and put it on GSM ONLY and this seemed to help (although I have not yet tested that setting thouroughly)....any thoughts?

Unless you have an application running on the phone while you sleep it should not be discharging. With your phone asleep it should have full battery in the morning too if at full charge the night before. I suspect you have other issues. Switching from 3G to GSM is a very very minimal aid.

Interesting....No apps running at all.

I guess I will try killing the battery fully a few times before charging to see if that helps. If not, woudl you say bad battery??

I would say bad phone. But it could be battery. I suggest you contact ATT.

Never kill one of these batteries fully. That kills these batteries quickly. For the first 2 weeks its best to fully charge and take down to about 10% then fully charge again. But try never to let them go dead.

Dang it!

Oh well. So you think I should exchange it for a new handset? I bought it at Radio Shack, if that is what you think, I can do that first thing tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.

When I first got my phone (a few weeks ago) the battery would drain pretty quick. After letting it completely drain and recharge a couple of times it will now last at least a couple of days playing games and browsing the net. It seems when using/sending data it drains it quicker if the signal isn't very good. Don't know why.

yeah it is weird, I just got about three days on a single charge witout turning the phone off at all.

I guess it may have just been a fluke. We shall see.

Our phones drained kinda quick at first too, then after a couple of weeks did much better also.

Does anyone know if there's a high capacity battery for the mythic?  My battery goes from 4 bars to dead in about 50 mins of use.

That doesn't sound right, how long have you had your phone ?
Try contacting Att, sounds like a battery problem.

I'm actually on my second battery.  I've had it for about 3 months now.  I just know I need to be prepared to charge my battery.
