So I e-mailed Samsung about the missed call widget, and this is what I get:

--------------------------
Dear Brian,

Thank you for your inquiry.  We are happy to hear that you are pleased with your new Mythic and thank you for taking the time to inform us of the issues concerning the event widget.  We always appreciate hearing from our customers, as your comments are vital for us to continue improving our products, as well as our business.

We will forward your feedback along to the concerned parties for consideration and review.

We are unable to speculate when/if this software revision addressing this might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

Thank you again for your comments.  We appreciate your continued interest in Samsung products.

Sincerely,

Technical Support

"Inaccurate information" What are they talking about?  Why would fixing it's location lead to inaccurate information?

We received the same email when we were writing Samsung about the Eternity. Nothing really was resolved with it, I would imagine that the Mythic will get the same results.

Totally agree  Smiley Samsung has probably moved on, our feature phone isn't
what they care about.  I just don't understand why we can't have firmware  Sad

 Re]Re]Missed Call Widget
I thank you very much for forwarding my issue to the dev team. In addition, if you would be so kind as to forward the following requests to the dev team, it would be greatly appreciated. These are all issues that a large amount of Mythic users have.

* Missed call widget not remaining fixed position on current screen
* Lock wallpapers can not be changed or stopped from rotating
* No way to change text message ring tone to a non-system sound
* Can not add apps/games to menu list (going to menu--> add you can not add a specific app/game)

I know the mythic is not high up on your list, and it's very rare that you are actually going to release any updated firmware for this phone. It's a shame that only smart phones / tv's etc. get firmware upgrades, but a great phone like the mythic will be just released and left behind, nothing to improve battery life, or speed up the performance of the device.

Thank you for your response.  You are correct concerning the widget moving between screens upon receiving missed alerts.  This behavior is by design.

Regarding the widget not remaining fixed on the screen being viewed, unfortunately, we are unable to speculate when/if this issue will be addressed in future software releases for the Mythic.  However, we will forward your feedback concerning this behavior along to our product analysts for additional review and consideration.

We apologize for any inconvenience this presents.  We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

 Re]Missed Call Widget
I received your reply regarding the Missed Call Widget.

You say that fixing this error would result in inaccurate information and confusion. I am assuming by this you're focusing on the part of the e-mail mentioning that the missed call widget jumps to whatever screen you're on. This makes sense to me, to have it stay on the screen you're not on, you may never know you have a missed call/alert.

Also keep in mind though the lock screen does show you alerts. However I can understand this.

However, how about when I place the widget on a screen, i stay on that screen, and then when i get a new message/alert, the widget does not stay where I put it, even on the same screen (I am no longer mentioning going from one screen to the next, i'm speaking on it being on the same screen i am viewing.

Please let me know if this is at least fixable in some form of fashion. Thank you again.
