So far you are stuck with it however it is tops on these tech guys minds and hopefully one of them will come up with a workaround.

There are ten pre-loaded and locked pictures. The wallpaper rotates through these, or at least some of them. I'm wondering if one of those pictures could be used to "overwrite" the other nine. Would probably take someone familiar with TKFE and with some tech know-how. If this could be done then at least we would always have one wallpaper, i.e. "01 Mythic I.jpg"  which is one of the blue swirly curtain sort of thing pictures. And if that was in place of all the preloaded pics we wouldn't notice that it is rotating through them. Unfortunately I am neither familiar w/TKFE or very "techy". Hopefully the idea catches someones' interest.

If we can't delete can we replace?

Everything I've seen on other boards for the Mythic and other similar Samsungs (such as for the Impression) say that these files are just the copies of hidden, encrypted versions that the phone actually uses for the idle screens.

I would imagine copying over the files you found would be as easy as renaming another file and dragging it to the directory of the old picture with TKFE. It just won't affect the actual screen, though.

one of the problems i have come across is using TKE, i cant even do anything with any locked file.

I would hope samsung would realize this is an issue and realize an update.

maybe if we flood their in-boxes.... anyone know who to contact?

This has been the issue with samsung phones both in US and Europe. Yes those locked pics are not the ones used for the screensavers. I believe they are stored in a hidden folder and labeled as .rbm files. I have found nothing to open these files. There are a collection of bitmaps in each file.  Similiar to a gif but just doesnt cycle through the pics.

Is there a way not to use the screensaver? either when the phone is locked, or likewise?

I think lock button and screen savers are linked and nothing can be done about that right now.

there are discussions about some of this on these :

Are there any other screensavers from 3rd parties that can be installed and used?
