Is there anyway to remove the pre-installed favorites?

Yes there is a way. And of course it involves TKFE.

Connect your phone to your computer and start up TKFE. Navigate to the bookmark.xml in the User/Br folder.

Upload it to your PC. Open it up with wordpad. Change all the 1's after the word lock to 0's for each ID  and resave and download it back to your phone. Reboot your phone and now you can delete the default bookmarks you don't want.

Ok I went to try this and everytime I tried to upload I get "Warning: Unexpected has occured during transfer". Any idea why I would get this. I'm pretty sure I've done everything right in connecting TkFE to my phone. So I'm good and stumped. thanks

you have to set top window where you want the file to be uploaded to your pc so you can edit it.
